Shipping Rates - May 2019

May-September - We use USPS Priority Mail to ship your plants.  We do realize that this is an expensive way to ship, but your plants are an investment, and we want them to be alive when they get there.

UPS and FEDEX are cheaper, but our experience with these carriers during hot months is that the heat that builds up in carrier vehicles can, and often does, damage your plants to the point of no recovery and is especially damaging if they are in the box for more than 3 days, which is typical shipping to these zones as it takes longer to get there from Georgia.  We typically use UPS in the cool months.

Since we guarantee your shipment to arrive to you in good condition, we can only ship USPS Priority Mail during May-September which is more expensive

(Fall shipping rates for some states by UPS are less expensive.)

How We Ship

Note on Delivery times:  If USPS or any carrier states your package will arrive in a certain number of days, it is from the SHIPPING DATE, not the order date.  We ship within 7-14 days of your order.  We do not ship the same day or in many cases in the same week.

All plants are shipped in the pot with soil. We currently have certification to ship in the soil to all continental United States.

Each plant is packed with paper, sealed in a plastic bag and placed in a box with cardboard packing to prevent movement and damage to your plants. We try to pack as many plants in a box as we can while maintaining the quality of the plants.

Buds & Blooms

We sell Camellias that are one to two years old.  While some plants may have blooms on young plants, many do not start to put on significant buds until they are year 3.  There are exceptions with some plants, but this is the normal expectations when growing Camellias.

Some varieties like Camellia sasanqua will produce flowers on younger plants, but they are finished blooming by December for the most part.

If we do have plants that have buds or blooms, they are easily knocked off during the shipping process.  They are very fragile and even the slightest shake or rattle and buds can be knocked off.

For these reasons, we tell our customers to expect beautiful plants and buds should follow in the next two seasons.

What's Covered

We guarantee that you will receive healthy plants in good condition and that they have passed all state health inspections.

We guarantee extreme damage or loss from packages not delivered on time by the carrier ONLY if we are notified of the package delay within 1 business day of non-delivery and if you have contacted the carrier to try to locate the package.

We guarantee that they are the products you ordered and that they are true to name.

We guarantee that if you have a problem with your plant(s) that we will try our best to help you solve the problems before you have dead plants. You have invested money and time into your Camellias and we ask that you contact us if you see anything wrong with your plants so we can help you.
