Variegated Camellias are the most prized of all Camellias. Usually you will find a solid color blotched with white or other ligher or darker colors. Sometimes the variegation is in the form of stripes, streaks, specks and flecks of other colors.
Variegation can be genetic, occuring naturally in the plants genetic makeup and can affect both flower and/or foliage. Virus variegation is introduced and will most often affect both flower and foliage. It's not a harmful virus, but in many instances, the variegation is perfection at it's best and can change an ordinarily plain camellia into something really special!
