We ship October-April. Orders typically ship within 10-12 days, weather permitting.
If you want your order shipped at a specific time, please note it in the comment section of your order. In the event there are weather concerns (yours, ours, or in transit), we will postpone your shipment for a more suitable time.
Your shipping rates can be calculated by adding items to your cart. Then go go the shopping cart page and click "estimate shipping and tax" Enter your state and zip code.
You will have to re-estimate rates if you change the quantities or add additional items to your cart.
Shipping plants can be tricky and camellias are no exception. All of our plants are individually wrapped in plastic bags. This keeps moisture inside the root zone. The plants are then placed in a box with packing materials to prevent movement inside the box during shipment. The boxes are sealed and permits, if necessary for your state, are placed inside the plastic pouch on the front of your box along with the shipper label.
We ship GROUND - Fedex, UPS or USPS whichever will provide the best shipment for your area and your package.
Normal Shipping Schedule:
All plants are normally scheduled to ship within 10-12 business days from the date you place your order. We ship October-April/May only. We do not do summer shipments. Winter Weather delays could occur that can change the shipment date. Please see "Shipping To Cold Climates" below
SHIPPING TO COLD CLIMATES (October - March)
We monitor each shipment for weather conditions so that your plant will have the best chance of getting to you without damage. In shipping to areas where the temperatures are expected to drop well below freezing, we reserve the right to delay your shipments until weather conditions improve. Plants that are left in delivery trucks unprotected in freezing temperatures could result in injury or death to your plant. Delays could be as little as a week or as much as two to three months depending on the weather conditions. Please see "hold orders" below.
HOLD ORDERS - DELAYED SHIPMENTS
You can request that your order is held until ideal weather conditions or planting conditions for your weather. We also may choose to hold orders that we feel could be damaged during shipment. The plants are reserved for you and will be cared for until the shipment date. Please note: Your credit card is charged upon order. This reserves your plants for you, and also allows you to take advantage of sales or promotions that we may not have at a later date. Our inventory is extremely limited and perishable and we can not hold orders without payment in full.
To place an order on hold, please list the approximate time you would like for us to ship your plants in the comment section of your order. Shipments can be delayed for up to 3 months in advance.
We try to ship orders as quickly as possible, but because we are dealing with perishable items, we are limited to days we can ship and get them to you without too many delays. You can safely say that your order will ship out within 10-12 days from the time you place your order, weather and holiday schedules permitting.
How We Ship
All plants are carefully packaged to protect your plants as much as possible from the shipping process. Carriers are notorious for mishandling packages and so we have tried to prepare them the best we can. There may be a lot of paper or even foam peanuts in your package. This is to prevent movement in the box. Excess movement can damage plants.
Same Day or Rush Shipments
We do not offer same day or rush shipments. Our facility is not locally accessible to drop off packages easily. All shipments have to be scheduled in advance for pickup. Also due to the packaging and paperwork requirements, rush shipments are not possible.
